The Akkulam glass bridge tourist village, which has not been opened even after months of completion, has broken down again. The glass at the landing point of the bridge was broken. Repairs were carried out yesterday morning to prevent the incident from going public. A crack in the glass of the bridge was also found last April.
Concerns have been raised about the safety of the bridge, which was built with the promise of being able to accommodate 100 people at a time, and doubts have been raised about the construction contract. But Vattiurkav Youth Brigade Entrepreneurs Cooperative Society (VIB) took up the construction of bridge.
Although the construction was completed in February, the inauguration was not held due to controversy over the contract. Meanwhile, a crack was found at the base of the glass in the first pillar of the bridge. VK Prashant MLA, came to the scene alleging that the employees had broken it. But on the basis of the conclusion that it is not easy to break the glass at the bottom of the bridge built at a height of 75 feet, the glass broke for the second time when the police ended the investigation.
