Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita, first case in Kerala for riding without a helmet

Malappuram: The first case under Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita has been reported in the state. Malappuram Kondotti station is the first station to register a case under the Indian Penal Code for traveling without a helmet. A case was filed against a young man who was riding a two-wheeler without a helmet.

The case was registered at Kondoti station at 12.19 am on Monday. District Police Chief S. said that this is the first case in the state. Sasidharan said. A case has been registered against Muhammad Shafi, a native of Kotak Madikeri, Karnataka under Crime No. 936. The case is for carelessly driving the vehicle from Palakkad to Kozhikode on the Kozhikode-Palakkad road without wearing a helmet.

He was arrested at Kolathur. Mohammad Shafi’s vehicle number was KL-65-A-2983. The SHO said that Muhammad Shafi drove the vehicle in a careless and dangerous manner.
