Chengal Maheswara Temple Gets National Record Approval

Again approval for Chengal Maheswara temple. It has received National Record approval from the Global Records and Research Foundation. Again recognition of Vaikundam and Maha Shivalingam in Chengalal Maheswaram Shivaparvati Temple.

Chhattisgarh Minister Tangram Varma handed over the letter of recognition to Swami Maheswarananda Saraswati, the abbot of the temple. The Vaikundam is built at a height of 80 feet next to the 111 feet high Maha Shivalingam. Above this is the 64 feet long idol of Hanuman.

A model of 108 Shiv Lingams installed by Parasuraman has also been arranged in the eight floors inside. The temple has the tallest Shivalinga in the country.

Inside the Vaikundam, one can descend to see the Anantashayana and below it the eight Lakshmi viz., Veeralakshmi, Gajalakshmi, Santanalakshmi, Vijayalakshmi, Dhanyalakshmi, Adilakshmi, Dhanalakshmi and Aishwaryalakshmi. The idols of Ananthasayanam, Ashta Lakshmi, Sayanaganapati and Brahma Vishnu Maheshwaran are completely carved in white marble. The idols were carved in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
