Constant threat, police protection for Manuthomas who left CPIM in Kannur

Police protection for former district committee member Manuthomas, who left CPIM in Kannur in the face of constant threats including on social media. The order belongs to the District Police Chief. Police will provide protection to the house and the establishments owned by Manu. An instruction was given to Alakode police in this regard.

Manu Thomas informed the police that he did not want security. But the order of the District Police Chief is based on the intelligence report. After leaving the party, Manu had come forward with serious allegations against Jayarajan. Then Manu Thomas received threatening messages on social media. This is not a full-time security requirement.

After finding out that Manu is facing security threat, the police has given instructions for protection. After coming out of the party, Manu Thomas had made serious allegations that quota and gold smuggling gangs were connected with the party. The Congress had demanded an inquiry into the revelations of Manu Thomas.

The Kannur DCC president demanded an investigation in this matter including by central agencies. The revelations of Manu Thomas were also raised in the Assembly today by Leader of the Opposition VD Satheesan. Manu Thomas had revealed that Arjun Ayanki and Akash Tillankeri had received help from the party at some point.
