The accident occurred during heavy rain.

The airport was partially closed following the accident. IndiGo flights from Terminal One have been cancelled. Officials informed that there will be no flight service through terminal one until two o’clock and efforts are being made to conduct flight services through terminal two and three.

An official statement from the airport informed that a part of the roof of the old departure forecourt of Terminal 1 of Delhi Airport has collapsed due to heavy rain since early this morning. Injuries have been reported in the accident. Emergency personnel are working to provide all necessary aid and medical assistance to the victims. All flights from Terminal One were suspended following the accident. Check-in counters are closed as a security measure.
