DGP committted a serious crime and if a complaint is received, criminal case will be filed

Thiruvananthapuram: The state police chief Sheikh Darvesh Sahib is in legal trouble for trying to sell the land by hiding the liability. Legal experts point out that if a complaint is received, a criminal case will have to be filed.

Thiruvananthapuram Additional Sub Court had blocked the transfer of land owned by DGP. Land transfer was blocked due to non-return of advance purchase amount for land sale. The Chief of Police can now transfer the land only if the relevant amount is tied up in the court.

A native of Vazhuthakkad. Umar Sharif was the petitioner. It is said in the petition that Umar entered into a lease agreement for the property of 10,800 cents in Manikanteswaram, Perurkada in the name of DGP and his wife Farida Fatima, agreeing a price of 74 lakh rupees.

The agreement was to transfer the land within two months. 15 lakhs was paid on the day of the contract and later 15 lakhs was paid in two instalments. The last time it was handed over was at the police chief’s office. When asked for 25 lakh again, Umar asked to see the original document.

The property was said to have no encumbrances. However, this property is SBI. It was learned that a mortgage of 26 lakh rupees was taken in the Althara branch. Then the lawyer sent a notice demanding the return of the advance, but the money was not paid. Meanwhile, Umar approached the court and attached the land alleging that he was trying to sell the land instead.
