Kozhikode: A 52-year-old man who masturbated near a medical student was arrested. The incident took place during the KSRTC bus journey. Following the complaint of the student, he was caught by the bus staff and handed over to the police. The incident happened at 4.15 am yesterday. Kairadi Shamsudeen, a native of Palakkad, was arrested.
Kasaba police registered a case of sexual assault against the suspect and released him. Shamsudeen boarded the KSRTC Superfast bus that left Thiruvananthapuram for Kozhikode at 2.30 am yesterday from Guruvayoor. He took a ticket to Kozhikode and sat in an empty seat. Later, he sat near the student and masturbated. He misbehaved with the student.
With this, the student informed the conductor. As per the instructions of the conductor, the bus was taken to Kozhikode city police control room. After informing the traffic police, the Kasaba police arrived and took a written complaint from the student. The accused had filmed the action from the bus on the student’s mobile phone.
Shamsuddin was taken into custody and taken to Kasaba police station and the bus journey continued. Police registered a case against the accused and released him. The police responded that the accused was released on bail by the station when the student said that he was not interested in further action on the complaint.
