Heavy Rain to Continue Lashing the State for Coming Days

Thiruvananthapuram: Meteorological department has warned that heavy rain will continue in the state for the coming days. A low pressure is occured from Maharashtra coast to Madhya Kerala coast. Along with this, westerly and south-westerly winds continue to be strong along the Kerala coast. As a result, very heavy rain is likely at isolated places and heavy rain at other places today. Two districts are on orange alert and seven districts are on yellow alert.

Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Kasaragod districts are likely to experience moderate rain at isolated places with gusty winds of up to 40 kmph this morning. The Meteorological Department has announced that there is a chance of moderate rain at isolated places in other districts.

Central Meteorological Department has announced orange alert in Wayanad and Kannur districts. Chance of heavy rain at isolated places is predicted. Coastal areas of Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Thrissur, Alappuzha, Thiruvananthapuram and districts of Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Thrissur. Thiruvananthapuram are likely to experience high waves of 2.9 to 3.6 meters till 11:30 today. There is a possibility of black sea phenomenon and high waves on the coast of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
