New Delhi: After taking charge as Union Minister of State, Suresh Gopi said that I will work hard to keep its promise of AIIMS. Union Minister Suresh Gopi responded to the media that AIIMS will come up at the location mentioned earlier if the Chief Minister takes interest. To the question whether it is Kozhikode, the reply was that the Chief Minister knows about it.
He added that after the Pinarayi government came to power, the land given for AIIMS was not included in the list despite many requests. Suresh Gopi said that if it comes in the list, it will definitely be done within the budget. At present Kozhikode district has been selected by the state government for AIIMS.
But there is a strong demand for a health facility like Kasaragod AIIMS, an endosulfan-affected area. Local residents had organized massive protests.
