Kozhikode Kodombuzha Resident Abdul Raheem’s Sentence Revoked

Riyadh: The sentence of Abdul Rahim, a native of Kodompuzha, Kozhikode, who was sentenced to death in a Saudi jail, has been cancelled. The order was issued by the Riyadh Criminal Court.

34 crore rupees was handed over to the family of the slain Saudi boy. Following this, the Saudi family informed the court that they would forgive the accused. Abdul Rahim also participated in the online court proceedings from jail. After examining all the documents, the court signed the order canceling the death sentence. Rahim will be released from jail the next day after completing the formalities.

The 15 million Riyal collected for the release of Abdur Rahim was handed over to the Riyadh Criminal Court on the 3rd of last month by the Riyadh Governorate of the Indian Embassy. Indian Embassy official Yusuf Kakancheri and Rahim case attorney Siddique Tuvvoor went to Riyadh Governorate and handed over the check in the name of the Chief Justice of Riyadh Criminal Court.
