Lok Sabha Election : Election campaign for the fifth phase to end today

The election campaign for the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections will conclude today. Voting will be held on Monday in 49 constituencies in six states and two Union Territories. Polling in Maharashtra, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Ladakh, Odisha, UP and West Bengal in this phase.

Polling for 35 assembly constituencies in Odisha will also be held along with this. 695 candidates are contesting for the Lok Sabha at this stage. Union Ministers Rajnath Singh (Lucknow), Smriti Irani (Amethi) and Piyush Goyal (Mumbai North). Rahul Gandhi (Rae Bareli) and Chirag Paswan (Hajipur) are the prominent ones who are seeking popular vote at this stage.

Priyanka Gandhi will campaign from house to house in Rae Bareli today. Rahul’s campaign is in Barabanki. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold a campaign rally in Amethi today. In UP, the maximum number of seats will go to polls in the fifth phase.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said that India Front will win more than 300 seats in the elections. Kharge said at an election rally in Mumbai that the BJP will not win more than 200 seats as it does not have influence in many states.
