Milma employees on strick; milk supply crisis

Thiruvananthapuram: The milk market of the state is affected by the labor strike at Milma plants. Workers’ strike is going on in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta plants. The strike was intensified on the allegation of false charges against the strikers.

The protesters had detained the chairperson of Milma Thiruvananthapuram Regional Union, accusing him of blocking the promotion of the workers. A case was filed against the strikers during the ongoing protests related to the promotion of workers in the plant.

As the strike intensified, the supply of milk is in crisis. The drivers say that many people have started calling from the shops due to non-availability of milk. It is estimated that if the strike does not end soon, the milk procurement in the state will be severely affected. This will also put the dairy farmers in trouble. Although the dairy manager called the strikers for discussion, the strike leaders are of the stand that they will not discuss the false case against them.
