Parts of Chandrayaan 4 will be assembled in space in two stages, ISRO

New Delhi: ISRO released more updates on the Chandrayaan 4 mission. ISRO Chairman R. Somanath said that the parts of Chandrayaan 4 will be brought to space in two stages and then assembled there. Then the mission will be transferred to the moon.

In his speech in Delhi, Somanath said that the weight of the Chandrayaan 4 mission would be more than what the most powerful rocket could carry.

“Though there have been previous missions to connect different spacecraft, such as the International Space Station, this will be the first time that parts of a spacecraft will be assembled in space.

Docking technology is being developed to assemble spacecraft parts in space. The mission, named Spadex, will be completed by the end of this year. The report on the cost of Chandrayaan 4 will be forwarded to the government soon for approval,” said Somanath.
