Thiruvananthapuram: Sisters and a child fell off the flyover after the scooter went out of control at Venpalavatta. One died and two are in critical condition. Simi (35), a native of Kovalam, died, her sister Sini (32) and Simi’s daughter Shivanya (3) were hospitalized with serious injuries. CCTV footage of the accident has been released.
The accident happened around 1 pm. When the two-wheeler lost control from the flyover, all three fell down. They were immediately admitted to a nearby hospital. Simi is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.
Petta police reached the spot. It fell onto the service road. It is indicated that the accident was caused by the wheel slipping due to rain earlier.
