Kannur: District Collector Arun K. Vijayan suggested that a criminal case should be filed against those who dump garbage in public places. It is suggested that the local governments should forward the complaints about such people to the police.
The move is to make waste disposal efficient in view of the possibility of outbreak of infectious diseases along with monsoons. The district collector had convened a meeting yesterday to review the garbage disposal and cleaning work being done as part of the monsoon preparations.
LSG D Jo. Director Serena A. Rahman, Deputy DMO Dr. KC Sachin, Sanitation Mission District Mission Coordinator KM Sunilkumar, Additional SP P Balakrishnan Nair, officials of various departments and others participated in the meeting.
