Mumbai: Actress and model Noor Malabika Das (32) was found dead. The body was found hanging from a fan in a flat in Lokhandwala, Mumbai. The primary conclusion is suicide. The body is reported to be more than a week old. The association of filmmakers called the death mysterious and demanded an investigation. But the police concluded that it was suicide.
The residents of the adjacent flat, who were suspicious about the smell coming from the flat, informed the police. The body was found by the police who broke the lock of the door and entered.
The All India Cine Workers Association has asked Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinda and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis to conduct a thorough investigation into the issue and find out the reason behind the rising number of suicides among filmmakers. Noor Malabika has acted in the web series The Trial and a few Hindi films.
