Kerala University art festival is again in controversy

Thiruvananthapuram∙ Kerala University Arts Festival mired in controversies. Suspect in SFI’s stabbing case came to Kalotsavam as a volunteer. It is reported that the accused who stabbed the student in the university college worked as a volunteer in the SFI Neyyattinkara Area Secretary Aromal Kalotsavam.

Aromal is accused in the case of stabbing a student in University College and in the case of beating up a student in Sanskrit College. Aromal, who is also a student of Thiruvananthapuram Fine Arts College, was present when Judge Shaji and others were detained.

Meanwhile, the second and third accused in the case, Jomat and Suraj, had revealed that PN Shaji (Shaji Poothatta), who was the judge of Margamkali at the Kerala University Youth Festival, was beaten up by SFI workers. Shaji committed suicide at his home in Kannur the other day. They say that Shaji was beaten by being taken to another room near the Senate hall. Deadly weapons like cricket bat and hockey stick were present in the room.

Jomat and Suraj revealed that during the beating, Shaji said, ‘Don’t involve me in unnecessary problems, there is no way to live, I will commit suicide’. They say that those who beat them replied, ‘Go and show me something’. The beating was led by SFI leader Anju Krishna.
