Ramesh Pisharody Slams AMMA Elections as Undemocratic

Kochi: Actor Ramesh Pisharody has spoken openly against the election of the office bearer of ‘AMMA’. Ramesh Pisharody has sent a letter to all the members openly calling the selection of three women members to the Executive Committee undemocratic. The candidate who gets the most votes is the winner. That is democracy.

Then it will be the people’s decision. Ramesh Pisharody points out in the letter that if a candidate gets more votes and has to exchange them for those who have less votes than him, it is tantamount to canceling the will of the people.

“I could have avoided the media coverage of my failure. And that too when those with significantly less votes than me are declared winners. It was the responsibility of the office-bearers to clarify these matters after the election.” – says the letter.

The easiest way to implement reservation is to reserve four seats for women. Don’t make men compete. Although it can be said that all the matters have been clarified earlier in the bylaws, the above matters should be taken into account to implement the word democracy in its full meaning. He also demanded that the bye-law should be amended to properly implement women’s reservation.
