Chandigarh: An 11-year-old died in an accident where a toy train overturned in a mall. The accident took place on Saturday evening at Ellen’s Mall in Chandigarh. Shehbaz Singh, who came to the mall with his parents from Nawanshahr in Punjab, died in the accident.
The child was in the last compartment of the toy train. Another relative was also with the child. The train suddenly overturned when it reached a bend in the mall. Shehbaz was rushed to the hospital with serious head injuries but died while undergoing treatment. The police registered a case and started investigation. The police are investigating whether the driver who was driving the Troy train made a mistake.
The child who was with him escaped the accident. The preliminary conclusion is that the train did not slow down even when it reached the curve. The accident happened around 9.30 pm. Shehbaz’s body was handed over to his relatives after post-mortem.
