Floods in kochi, the High Court issued a sharp criticism

Kochi: The situation is different now in the city of Kochi, where the water did not rise during the last rains. As the rain fell, the water rose. Sewage overflowed the drains and flowed into the roads. The High Court has now come forward with a strong criticism of the city’s floodplain. The High Court said that if the District Collector thinks alone, the waterlogging will not be resolved and it requires collective efforts.

The court pointed out that all the sewage flows in the rains and all the drains are obstructed. The court directed the corporation to find out the reason for this. The court also asked that if the drains are full, they should be cleaned immediately.

Due to the heavy rain which has been falling continuously since the night, many parts of Kochi city have been flooded even today. Even though the rain stopped in the afternoon, the water has not receded completely from Kalur Stadium Road, KSRTC Stand and Edappally Signal. More than 15 houses were flooded in Kalamassery Municipal Ward 25. In Aluva Pulinchot, water inundated the national highway making traffic difficult.
