Sidharthan’s death: High Court to hear bail plea of 13 accused in CBI case today

The High Court will today hear the bail plea of ​​13 accused in the case registered by the CBI in the death of Pookod Veterinary University student JS Sidharth. The CBI is likely to file a reply affidavit today on the bail pleas of the accused. CBI wants separate hearing on bail pleas. The CBI investigation team filed the preliminary charge sheet in the trial court.

Further investigation into the conspiracy is going on. CBI’s position is that the accused should not be granted bail in this situation. Siddharth’s mother has also joined each case opposing the bail plea of ​​the accused. The observation of the High Court was that Siddhartha was a victim of inhumane torture.

Earlier, the CBI had filed a charge sheet in Siddharth’s death. The charge sheet was filed in Ernakulam CJM Court. The CBI filed the charge sheet in the case after completing the investigation. The CBI has also stated that the investigation into the conspiracy in the case will continue. The investigation was led by SP M Sundervel.

Sidharth was found dead in the washroom of the hostel on February 18. The complaint is that Siddharth died due to brutal ragging in the campus. The CBI took up the case following the demand of Sidharth’s family. The High Court today observed that Siddharth’s death was a serious incident.

The brutal incident took place inside the college campus in front of many children. The court also pointed out that it is suspected that this led to the death. Sidharth was a victim of inhuman torture. The court also clarified that the officials who did not prevent the attack should also face action.
