Pattambi: A minor girl was seriously sexually assaulted by her stepfather with the knowledge of her mother. The court sentenced the accused to 80 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of two lakh rupees. The girl’s mother was sentenced to three years in prison and a fine of Rs 1 lakh.
Pattambi POCSO fast track court judge Ramu Ramesh Chandrabhanu pronounced the sentence. The incident related to the case took place in 2023. The case is that the 45-year-old accused sexually assaulted a nine-year-old girl at home with the knowledge of her mother and threatened to kill her. The accused is a native of Perumbailav Estate Padi in Thrissur district. Court also ordered that the fine should be paid to Ati Jivatha.
17 witnesses were examined and 23 documents were produced by Adv. Nisha Vijayakumar was present. Assistant Sub-Inspector Maheshwari of Pattambi Police Station assisted the prosecution.
