Amazon Prime Video’s new ad, promoting its 30-day free trial, takes a humorous jibe at the two-day stream fest that was offered by rival streaming platform Netflix.
On 5 December 2020, the streaming giant released a 37-second ad called ‘No Fest, Just Facts’ and the YouTube ad description read: “Free streaming of unlimited blockbuster entertainment, TV shows, Amazon Originals and premium movies for not just 2 but 30 complete days!”. Netflix had earlier announced that viewers would be able to watch all their content for free on December 5 and 6. The streaming platform had communicated this offer by labelling it as a ‘streaming fest’ and conducted extensive marketing activities around it. Netizens have found Amazon Prime Video’s new ad entertaining and are enjoying the comical dig. The two streaming platforms on earlier occasions too had been involved in banters online and grabbed the attention of audiences.
