Chennai: Former manager Azhakappan (64) who snatched actress Gauthami’s property has been arrested again. Last December, Chennai Police had arrested Azhakappan from Kerala in the case of extorting properties worth Rs 25 crore in the name of Gautami and her brother Srikanth.
He was out on bail in the case. The Kancheepuram police have now made an arrest in a new case of looting property in Sriperumpudur.
19 years ago, Gauthami issued a power of attorney on behalf of Azhakappan to manage the properties while she was undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Then the land in various places in the name of Gautami and his brother was sold and with the money received from this, Azhakappan used to buy land in the name of his family members.
Money fraud was also done in some of the sales. Chennai police registered a case following Gautami’s complaint and arrested six people including Azhakapan and his wife from Kerala last year.
