Kochi: The producers of RDX movie have approached the court demanding compensation of more than one crore. Producer Sophia Paul and the production company approached the court against the director of RDX Cinema, Nahas Hidayam, alleging breach of contract.
Producer Sophia Paul and the production company approached the court against the director of RDX Cinema, Nahas Hidayam, alleging breach of contract. The deal was to pay Rs 15 lakh to debutant Nahas to direct the RDX movie. The contract also had a provision that the second film would be for the same production company. According to the contract, Rs 15 lakh was paid to Nahas.
According to the petition, after the release of the film, he paid Rs 40 lakh as an advance for the second film and Rs 482,000 for pre-production work. Nahas refused many times to continue the film. Then the producers approached the court demanding the purchase amount and 50 lakh compensation. The demand is to return more than one crore rupees including 18% interest.
Court summons was sent to director Nahas on the petition. The court has directed Nahas to appear on August 6. However, Nahas Hidayat responded that he had not received the summons.
