Washington, along the northern border of India and China to 60,000 troops deployed on the line that the actual control of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Pompeo met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar at a meeting of the Quad nations in Tokyo. The two leaders discussed the need to work together on security, peace, stability, and progress in the Indo-Pacific region and globally.
Pompeo said the meeting with Jaishankar was positive. ‘It became clear that we (the quad nations) had been sleeping for so long. For decades, Western nations allowed the Chinese Communist Party to advance. The previous regime was on its knees and allowed China to seize intellectual property. Along with this, millions of jobs were lost. This is also the case for the quad nations, “said Pompeo.
Following the Tokyo meeting, Pompeo and Defense Secretary Mark Esper will arrive in India for the annual meeting. Ahead of this, Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Began will also arrive in India next week.
