PM Modi Cancels Russia Visit Amid India-Pakistan Tensions; India to Be Represented by Diplomat

Moscow: Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has canceled his planned visit to Russia. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that although PM Modi will not attend, India will still be represented at the events by another diplomatic official.

Modi had been invited to attend Russia’s Victory Day Parade on May 9, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. However, the name of the Indian representative attending in his place has not been disclosed.

Russia has extended invitations to leaders of several friendly nations to participate in this year’s celebrations, which hold significant symbolic importance.
