US envoy David Stillwell has said that China is taking advantage of countries, including India, in the Kovid crisis. The Ladakh conflict on the Indo-China border is an example of this, said the US East Asia Pacific Assoc. Secretary Stillwell made it clear at the news conference.
Stillwell also demanded that China be prepared to resolve border issues through peace talks. The US response comes in the wake of a series of provocations from the Chinese side in eastern Ladakh in recent days.
“We can see the advantage of this situation in China after the formation of COVID 19 from Wuhan. I think the example Ladakh is the conflict. I have a problem with India through peaceful means, discussions and asks for the solution”. – Said David Stillwell. Stillwell reiterated US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s statement that the United States hopes for a peaceful solution to the Indo-China border conflict.
Problems on the Indo-China border have flared up again in recent days following a Chinese move to encroach on a strategic area south of Lake Pangong in eastern Ladakh. There was no consensus in the brigade commander-level talks held over the past three days to defuse the conflict. India is also well prepared on the border to counter Chinese provocation.
