Covid vaccine withdrawned by AstraZeneca: The business has entirely ceased production and distribution

AstraZeneca withdraws CoviShield vaccine weeks after news that Covid vaccines rarely cause side effects AstraZeneca says the move is for commercial reasons.

One of the vaccines in use worldwide is the covid vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University. This vaccine was produced and distributed by the Serum Institute in India under the name of ‘Covishield’.

AstraZeneca has also blocked the use of the vaccine, which has stripped everyone of its rights to produce the vaccine. AstraZeneca is currently facing a £100m compensation case in the UK.
