Thiruvananthapuram: Rains are likely to intensify from Saturday in the state where the monsoon continues to be weak. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain at isolated places in three districts on Saturday. As part of the alert, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in Idukki, Palakkad and Malappuram districts.
Heavy rain is expected at isolated places in five districts on Sunday. Yellow alert has been declared in Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram and Wayanad districts. Rain warning has also been issued in Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Palakkad districts on Monday.
According to the National Center for Oceanography and Research, there is a possibility of high waves of 1.4 to 1.6 meters along the Kannur and Kasaragod coasts till 11.30 pm on Friday. Fishermen and coastal residents in these areas should exercise special caution.
