Kollam: Sooraj’s sister Surya, who was convicted in the Uthra murder case, has been allowed to go abroad in search of employment. Punalur First Class Magistrate Court Judge Asha Mariam gave the permission with caveats.
Surya is the fourth accused in a related case related to the Uttara case. Surya’s plea was that his father is bedridden due to paralysis and there is no possibility of him getting a job in the country due to the case as an MBA graduate and he should be allowed to get a passport to seek employment abroad.
The prosecution objected to this, but after hearing the details, the court granted permission with strict conditions. The condition is to present information such as proof of employment, place of residence abroad and employer. Surya was exempted from appearing in court in the trial of the case. Advocate Anees Thangalkunju appeared for Surya.
