Four year undergraduate courses from this academic year, Curriculum has been prepared; Minister R Bindu

Thiruvananthapuram: Higher Education Minister R Bindu has announced that the curriculum for starting four-year undergraduate courses in universities has been prepared. The new degree course is not meant to add one year to the existing three years. The curriculum has been prepared with fundamental changes. The goal is to bring radical change.

Those who complete the fourth year will receive an Honors degree. Students who are interested in more than one subject can choose subjects accordingly. A degree can be obtained in two and a half years if the credits are earned as required. A unified academic calendar will be made. Admission notification will come by 20th May. Applications will be accepted till June 7. The first allotment will be held on June 22.

Inter-university transfer will also be available to interested students during their studies. Along with regular college studies, students can take courses online and use the credits earned to complete a degree/honours course. There will be freedom to choose methods according to the characteristics of each college.
