Government did not pay dues, suppliers stopped supply of medicine

Kozhikode: Due to non-payment of dues of crores, suppliers have stopped supplying medicine to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. The suppliers are of the stand that they will not provide the medicine without paying the dues. The supply of medicine to the medical college hospital may be completely disrupted within two days.

Kozhikode Medical College Hospital owes about seventy five lakh rupees to suppliers. The arrears are on purchases of life-saving drugs, surgical instruments and fluids. Kozhikode Medical College is one of the health centers in the country that distributes medicines for diseases including cancer at low cost.

The government owes around Rs 75 lakh to the suppliers of Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. The arrears are on purchases of life-saving drugs, surgical instruments and fluids.
