BTS’ V turned 25 at the stroke of midnight KST on Dec. 30, which called for a lit celebration organized by fans across social media — and even at the tallest building in the world.

The official Twitter account for BTS sent out a celebratory message for V, which included a thank you note from the birthday boy himself. “I’m so happy &thankful I’m able to receive many messages of congratulations from ARMY on my birthday,” one fan’s translation of his original message read. “We’ve spent countless days together, but you all have made my birthday become something even more special. I’ll deeply cherish &always remember your wishes with a grateful heart.” According to reports, V’s fans have also booked a billboard on the famous Times Square in New York City to feature a birthday message. V became the first K-pop artist to feature on Dubai’s Burj Khalifa – tallest building in the world. V is reportedly the second celebrity after Shah Rukh Khan to have a birthday wish on Burj Khalifa.

Earlier this month, the septet comprising of Jin, Suga, RM, V, Jungkook, Jimin and J-Hope were named TIME magazine’s entertainer of the year in 2020. The group also topped the list for most tweeted musicians in the United States for a fourth straight year, reflecting the South Korean boy band’s milestones on the US singles charts and successes at award shows.
