Israel has eliminated Hamas commander Abdul Hadi Sabaya, who was responsible for orchestrating the October 7th attack. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that Sabaya was killed in a recent drone strike in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza. Sabaya, the commander of the Nukhba Platoon in Hamas’ Western Khan Yunis Battalion, played a key role in the Kibbutz Nir Oz attack during the assault on Israel in October 2023.
In addition to his leadership in the October 7th attack, Sabaya was responsible for numerous terror attacks against the Israeli military. The IDF previously reported the elimination of 14 Hamas militants, including those who led the October 7th assault.
The Israeli government clarified that the IDF and Israel’s General Security Service, Shin Bet, are working together to target and eliminate all Hamas leaders involved in the attack. Meanwhile, Israel’s Defense Forces continue to carry out strong counterattacks against Hamas units in Gaza, while Houthi rebels in Yemen and Hezbollah in Lebanon are also continuing their attacks against Israel.
