SFI Questioning Principal Faces Retaliation: Government Denies Pension, Ignores High Court Directive

Kasaragod: After the retaliatory action against the principal who questioned the SFI,
the Kasaragod. Govt has said that the Left Teachers’ Association and the SFI are hunting her. M Rama, former principal of the college. She told the media that despite the intervention of the High Court, the government is denying pension and irregularities are still happening in the college

The left wing students’ organization turned against the principal following the allegations that drug use was going on in the campus under the leadership of SFI. Even though the High Court quashed the proceedings against Rama, including the withholding of pension, the government is not paying the pension. They also alleged that the reason for withholding the pension was to question the wrong doings of SFI.

“You will know that SFI workers beat up the principal of Koyilandi College. They really beat me too. If you look at the CCTV, you will understand how much they hit my chest and outside. But not in the face. Not even a teacher came to stop him when he was beaten up by girls and boys. Action was taken against those who attacked the principal in Koilandi. Because there is no organizational involvement. Even though the SFIs did so much against me, no action was taken. The reason left teachers turned against him is because of the hostility of being told to work properly”.

M Rama retired from service on March 30. A show cause notice was issued prior to the disciplinary action on the eve of his retirement. Rama approached the High Court against this. In the first week of April, the High Court had ordered the cancellation of the transfer and withholding of pension. Re-applied for pension with copy of court order. Even after 3 months of the order, they are not ready to pay the pension
