It has been warned that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts in the coming hours.

Yellow alert has been announced today in Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. Chance of isolated heavy rain is predicted in these districts.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center has informed that there is a possibility of black sea phenomenon and high waves along the coast of Kerala and Tamil Nadu till 11.30 tonight. Fishermen and coastal residents in these areas should be extra cautious, officials said. The Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is no disruption to fishing in the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts.
Gulf of Mannar, adjoining south Tamil Nadu coast, northern parts of Southeast Arabian Sea, south Bay of Bengal, central Bay of Bengal adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal, north Andhra Pradesh coast with gusty winds of 35 to 45 kmph and at some occasions up to 55 kmph today. Bad weather is also likely.
