Mega Development Project ;Enhancing Pilgrimage Tourism from Nagapatnam Great Church to Thrissur Lourdes Mata Church, SG

Huge developments and drastic changes are coming in Thrissur. Now the Union Minister of State for Tourism and Petroleum Department Suresh Gopi is preparing big plans for the people of Thrissur, i.e. big pilgrimage tourism is in his plan. Suresh Gopi was sharing his development thoughts as a public representative in ‘Meet the Press’ at Thrissur Press Club.

“circuit of pilgrimage tourism in mind. It starts from Nagapattinam and extends to my own Lourdes Mata Church in Thrissur. It is planned to implement the project through Nagapatnam, Velankanni, Dindigul, Mangaladevi, Kaladi, Malayathur, Bharanganam and Kodungallur to reach Thrissur Lourdespally. The concerned officials have been asked to prepare an outline for it. “Guruvayoor needs to be seen differently” – Suresh Gopi said. ‘Kerala needs unique tourism projects. All of them should be green projects. Mangroves and backwaters should not be touched. One person alone cannot prepare the investments that are part of the development of the country. Just follow all the conditions and do not obstruct those who come to deposit. Try to win the heart of the investor. Also, look at the rules. Many have already come forward with plans. But can’t reveal more about it” – Suresh Gopi mentioned.

AIIMS in five years

“AIIMS in Kerala will be made possible within five years. But it naturally takes time to start working. Kerala is seen not as a separate region for AIIMS. The current barrier to getting AIIMS is built. My aim is to extend Kochi Metro-Thrissur to Coimbatore. It does not mean that it will be done, but that it will be tried. It is essential and precious. If it cannot be realized, the concerned should be convinced about it.”

The letter will be countersigned

The letter sent from here to NABARD prevented the farmers from getting loans at four percent interest. The NABARD chairman has been informed that a ‘rebuttal to that letter’ will come soon.

He said that GAIL pipeline will be completed all over Kerala and railway tracks will be added if the land is taken away. It was learned that there are technical hurdles in the distribution of Bharatari at many places in the state. That will fix it. While pointing out the difficulty faced by the cooking gas consumers in conducting mustering, the Union Minister said that ‘there will be some difficulties when trying to redirect those who are going astray to the right path’.
