Aizawl: Heavy damage caused by Thunderstorm in Mizoram for three days. Incessant rains since Sunday have wreaked havoc in the state. Along with the rain, storm and hailstorm added to the impact of the disaster. . More than 2500 houses, buildings and schools were damaged.
A woman was also reportedly killed by lightning. A 45-year-old woman died after a tree fell in the strong wind. Many places are inaccessible due to fallen trees and dilapidated roads.
Many houses and buildings are completely destroyed. According to the State Disaster Management Authority, five districts were hit by thunder and rain. Around 11 relief camps were also destroyed. Kolasib district in northern Mizoram reported the most damage. 800 buildings including 632 houses were destroyed here.
