During the meeting at the White House, important issues such as trade, tariffs, and immigration between the two countries were discussed. The two leaders shook hands and hugged each other before the meeting. After the meeting, Trump and Modi held a joint press conference.

India-US will work together for progress. India-US relations will be strengthened by working together with Trump. We will move forward faster than in the first phase. Both countries will work together for development. US and India will jointly fight terrorism. India will open a new consulate in Boston,’ Modi said.

Trump said that he shares a great friendship with Narendra Modi. Modi is doing a great job in India. Trump also stated that he will continue to build the relationship between the two countries.

Modi said that he is happy that Trump is back in the White House and congratulates him on behalf of the 1.4 billion people of India. The people of India have given him the opportunity to be the Prime Minister for the third time. Modi said that he has got the opportunity to work with President Trump again for the next four years in this term.
