Chennai: 40 bullets seized from actor and former MLA Karunas. Ammunition was seized from his possession at the Chennai airport. Karunas reached the airport to go to Tiruchirappalli. A siren was blaring as the security personnel were inspecting the inventory.
Then, when the bag was checked, bullets were found. Due to this, Karunas was denied permission to travel to Tiruchirappalli. Then questioned. His explanation was that the gun was handed over to the Dindigal police station as the model code of conduct was in place but the cartridges were accidentally left in the bag.
He also showed documents proving that he had handed over the firearm at the Dindigal police station. Karunas’s statement has been found to be true by the security personnel in connection with the Dindikkal police station.
