Kottayam: 18 people were injured when a tourist overturned on the Pala-Thodupuzha road. The bus which was coming from Bangalore to Thiruvalla met with an accident. Among the injured, the condition of three people, including the driver, is critical. The injured were shifted to hospital. The rescue operation was conducted under the leadership of police and fire brigade.
Meanwhile, three members of a family were killed in an accident between a KSRTC Swift bus and an auto in Malappuram. Ashraf (44), his wife Sajitha (39) and daughter Fida (14), a native of Mongam Olamathil, died. The accident happened on the top floor.
The accident happened when Fida was on her way to Malappuram Girls Government Higher Secondary School to enroll her in Plus One. It is reported that the auto rickshaw lost control and rammed into the front of the bus. The autorickshaw was completely destroyed in the accident.
KSRTC Swift bus was going from Palakkad to Kozhikode. CCTV footage of the incident has been released.
