TP Chandrasekaran murder case; move for commutation of sentence for main accused

The government has moved to release the accused in the T.P. Chandrasekaran murder case with remission of sentence. The government has moved to commute the sentences of TK Rajish, Shafi and Sijith. These are the accused who have been sentenced to life imprisonment by the High Court. The government has moved to bypass the High Court verdict and release the accused. When the prison advisory committee prepared the list of accused to be released as per the government directive, T. Three accused in the P case were included. After receiving the probation report of the police, the government can issue an order. The defendants can release it after the governor signs it.

On June 13, a letter was sent from the Kannur Central Jail Superintendent to the City Police Commissioner. In the letter, it was decided to release the prisoners with special remission as per the criteria mentioned in the government order and it was directed to submit the files along with the probation report of the accused to the government. It is also suggested to include the reactions of the relatives of the accused and send them to the government for the remission of the accused mentioned in the list.
