Palakkad: The ex-husband attacked the woman with acid and the incident happened in Palakkad Olavakod Thanav. Barsheena, a native of Olavakot, who runs a lottery shop here, was attacked. The incident happened at seven o’clock this morning. The accused reached the spot with a bottle filled with liquid.
There was an argument between the two. Then he poured the acid in his hand on Barsheena’s face. Kaja Hussain, a native of Tamil Nadu, has been taken into custody by the police. Barsheena, who suffered severe burns, was immediately admitted to Palakkad District Hospital. Their faces are badly burnt.
Kaja Hussain, who tried to run away from the spot after the attack, was caught by the locals and handed over to the police. He is now in the custody of Hemambika Nagar police. Police are investigating the reason behind the violence. Barsheena and Kaja Hussain were living separately for a long time.
