FIR filed against Kapil Sharma; case registered under the IT Act and Excise Act

An FIR has been filed against The Kapil Sharma Show makers in the district court of Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh-based lawyer has filed an FIR against popular comedian Kapil Sharma, and ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ for an episode, in which the cast members were shown drinking alcohol while performing a courtroom-based comedy sketch. The complaint has been filed where actors were shown consuming alcohol while performing a courtroom scene. The complainant reportedly alleged that the actors disrespected the court.

The case was filed by a lawyer named Suresh Dhakad, in the Shivpuri District and Sessions Court in Madhya Pradesh on Friday. The case has been registered under the IT Act and Excise Act and the matter is set to be heard on October 1. The lawyer said, “The Kapil Sharma Show that is being aired on Sony TV is sloppy. They also make lewd comments on women. In one of the episodes, a court was set up on the stage and the actors were seen drinking alcohol in public. This is contempt of court. That’s why I have demanded registration of FIR against the culprits under Section 356/3 in the court. Such display of sloppiness should be stopped.” The lawyer accused the actors of making lewd comments on women. The episode had aired on 19 January 2020. The Kapil Sharma Show is hosted by comedian Kapil Sharma. Apart from Kapil, the show stars Sumona Chakravarti, Bharti Singh, Krushna Abhishek, Sudesh Lehri and Archana Singh. After being off-air for almost seven months, TKSS returned to TV screens on August 21.This is not the first time that the show has landed in trouble. In another episode from last year, the show had stirred a row for hurting the sentiments of the Kayastha community. The episode had portrayed Chitragupt as trying to dupe a rich man.
