Hybrid ganja case; Excise department prepares a special questionnaire for the accused

In the Alappuzha hybrid ganja case, the Excise Department has prepared a special questionnaire for the accused. Over a hundred questions have been formulated to interrogate the suspects, along with several sub-questions. Among them, 25 questions are specifically related to the film industry, aiming to clarify the accused’s connection with actor Shine Tom Chacko.

Tazlim had earlier testified that she used drugs with Shine. Shine Tom Chacko also admitted that he knew Tazlim. The Excise Department is investigating whether any drug transactions took place between the two. The three accused will be interrogated by three separate teams. The investigation team will be split into three groups to cross-question the suspects and identify contradictions in their statements. So far, statements from 25 individuals have been recorded in connection with the case. The questioning will be based on these statements and digital evidence.

The accused will be taken into custody today for questioning. Tazlim Sultana, her husband Sultaan Akbar Ali, and their associate Firoz—who are currently in judicial custody—will be taken into Excise custody for three days. After the interrogation, they will be taken to various locations in Kochi for evidence collection.

Investigating officers are also extracting data from the accused’s mobile phones. The three will be questioned both together and separately. It has been found that the prime accused, Sultaan Akbar Ali, was involved not only in the ganja trade but also in gold smuggling. Detailed information regarding this is also to be collected from the accused.

Only after the interrogation of the suspects will notices be issued to film actors, including Shine Tom Chacko, whose names were mentioned by Tazlim.
