Abu Dhabi: Heavy rain in UAE. Abu Dhabi and Dubai received heavy rain this morning. The rain was accompanied by strong winds and hail. At three o’clock in the morning there was thunder and lightning. The National Meteorological Center has issued an orange alert in the country due to heavy rains.
Heavy rain was first reported in Al Dhafra and Al Sila areas. The announcement is that there is a possibility of unstable weather till 8 pm tonight. It was earlier announced that there is a chance of rain on May 2 and 3. Following this, cautionary instructions were also given. Schools in Sharjah and Dubai introduced distance learning. Government employees have also been given work from home. But government employees working directly are exempted from remote work.
Ministry of Home Affairs has asked private employees to work from home and relax their working hours. Dubai Metro extended its operating hours by five hours to 5 am. This is for the comfort of the passengers. Parks are also closed in Sharjah. Dubai Police warned people to be careful and not go out unless necessary.
