Kochi. The High Court said that it should not be forgotten that a woman spent 72 days in jail for no reason when it is not good to spend even 72 seconds in jail. Justice Devan Ramachandran said this to the government while considering the fake intoxication case against Sheela Sunny, the owner of a beauty parlor in Chalakudy.
A woman was imprisoned for no reason. Who will take responsibility for this? The court also observed that the justice system which consists of you and me is recited here. At the same time, Sheela Sunny approached the High Court seeking compensation for being trapped in the case and imprisoned for no reason.
Excise officials are the main accused in the case. Meanwhile, the government informed the High Court that an investigation is underway. The High Court will hear the case again after two weeks.
