Hooliganism of comrades,Assaulting a Youth Congress worker who came to file a complaint

Comrades attacked Kollam Kadaikkal police station due to party defeat. After the massive defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, CPM’s rioting took place at the Kadaikal police station. The incident came after the victory of Congress candidate NK Premachandran from Kollam constituency in the Lok Sabha elections. During the celebration, there was a verbal altercation between the CPM-UDF activists. When Jishnu, a UDF activist, came to the police station to file a complaint against this, the CPM workers launched the attack.

CPM members beat up Jishnu who came to file a complaint in the police station compound. The CPM workers also assaulted the police officers who tried to stop them. Police have arrested three CPM workers in the incident.CPM workers attacked Jishnu during the victory celebration held yesterday evening. CPM workers were enraged when Jishnu burst firecrackers in the vicinity of the house of one of the attackers. Then they got into an argument with Jishnu. After this, Jishnu came to the police station with a complaint.

The CPM workers who came to the spot on hearing the complaint used to attack Jishnu. Police arrested only three members of the group. Investigation has been started for the rest of the accused.This is not the first time that CPM members have shown hooliganism at Kadaikalil police station. Earlier, when there was a conflict, the gate of the police station was chained and locked, which led to widespread protests. There are many incidents of beating up the policemen. Although cases are regularly registered in these incidents, due to political pressure, none of the accused are arrested.

The UDF won all the seven assembly constituencies in the Kollam Lok Sabha constituency. Candidate N. E. Premachandran has a huge majority. The remaining six assembly constituencies, except Kundara, could not reduce Premachandran’s lead even for the LDF. Premachandran has a majority of 23,792 votes in the Kollam constituency where LDF candidate M. Mukesh won by 2,072 votes.

Mukesh was given the least number of votes out of seven constituencies in his own constituency. The UDF won the votes in the left constituencies including Kollam. Owned.The LDF has more than fifty thousand votes less than the last Lok Sabha election. Despite the decrease in voting percentage, Premachandran won the Punalur, Kundara and Iravipuram constituencies with a majority compared to the 2019 election. RSP’s stronghold Chavara got a majority of 25,846 votes this time.

R.S.P. Chavara is a constituency where LDF’s Sujith Vijayanpilla defeated state secretary Shibu Babyjohn by 1,096 votes. District CPI Premachandran has a lead of 14,619 votes in the minister’s constituency, Chatayamangalam. CPI won the largest majority in the district in the assembly elections. In Punalur, the winning constituency, the UDF has a majority of over eighteen thousand votes.
