Kamal Nath insults BJP women leader; Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that this is the feudal attitude of the Congress

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has lashed out at former BJP chief minister Kamal Nath for calling the BJP woman leader an ‘item’ during the election campaign. Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the reference to Kamal Nath was anti-feminist.

‘Imarthi Devi is the daughter of a poor farmer. From there they set aside their lives for public service. The Congress is once again proving the feudal attitude within by calling a woman an ‘item’. “There will be a silent protest on Monday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.,” Chauhan said.

Imarthi Devi asked if such references were made against her because she was born into a poor family. Devi also said that if such remarks are made against women, then how can they come down to the mainstream. Devi’s response was to ANI.

Meanwhile, BJP sources said that the state Election Commission has lodged a complaint against the controversial remark. The commission has filed a complaint alleging insult to Dalits and women. Madhya Pradesh will go to the polls on November 3. The results will be announced on November 10.
